Purandara Utsava Music Contest Guidelines
Join us for an exciting in-person contest. This unique opportunity to showcase your talent for a divine cause will feature a first round of auditions followed by the finals held at the SKVCNC premises.
Contest Requirements:
- Contest is only for North Carolina residents only.
- Kannada Dasara Padagalu: The performance must include songs by any Dasaru.
- Vaak Shuddi: Clear pronunciation is essential.
- Dasara Ankita: The selected song must include Dasara Ankita.
- Shruti Box: Songs must be presented with a Shruti Box.
- Indian Attire: Contestants must wear traditional Indian attire for auditions and finals.
- No accompaniment: No accompaniment needed.
- Entry: Only one song and one entry per applicant.
- Time Limit: Audition video should not exceed 3 minutes for sub junior, 5 minutes for junior, 6-8 minutes for intermediate, and 12 minutes for advanced. Overtime recordings will be rejected.
Judging and Prizes:
- Qualified Judges: Contestants will be judged by well-qualified judges.
- Prizes: Each category will have three prizes (1st, 2nd, 3rd).
- Performance Opportunity: All three winners in each category will get to perform at the Purandara Utsava event on the main stage on February 22nd, held at the HSNC Main Auditorium.
Timelines:
- Audition Entry Deadline: December 25, 2024
- Audition Results Announcement: January 10, 2025
- In-person Competition: February 8 and 9, 2025 (Time TBD)
- Winner On-Stage Performance: February 22, 2025
